TDI Advanced Nitrox

This course examines the use of EAN21 through 100% Oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 130 FSW. Students will learn the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for utilizing EAN21 through 100% Oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression.

Classroom

The classroom portion of this class will review the following topics:

  • Tech Diving Fundamentals
  • Diving Physics and Gas Laws
  • Gas Physiology
  • Formula Work
  • Equipment
  • Making Nitrox Work
  • Dive Planning
  • Dive Protocols
  • Common Gas Mixing Procedures

Open Water Dives

Four dives are required with a minimum bottom time of 100 minutes. Open water skills will include properly analyzing gas mixtures, demonstrating pre-dive planning, and executing the planned dives within the limits. Maximum training depths will not exceed 130 FSW.

Course Options

This course requires both home-study and in-class lectures as well as open water dives. Classes are offered on a regular basis

Prerequisites and Requirements

Students must have the following for class:


  • Students must be 15 years of age
  • Students must have TDI Nitrox or equivalent rating
  • Students must have 25 logged dives
  • Diversions' Student Agreement on file
  • Students must purchase a copy TDI's A Guide to Advanced Nitrox manual.
