PADI Underwater Navigator

Be the diver everyone wants to follow and make your sense of direction legendary with the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course.

Classroom

During the classroom portion of this class, students will learn basic navigation techniques and procedures.

Open Water Dives

During the open water portion of this class, students become proficient in underwater navigation. Students will be able to successfully demonstrate:

• Navigation patterns
• Natural navigation (without a compass)
• Compass navigation
• How to "mark" or relocate a submerged object or position from the surgace
• Underwater cartography
• How to follow irregular courses with the Nav-Finder
• Dive site relocation
• How to estimate distance underwater

This course is typically offered on weekends

Prerequisites and Requirements

Students must have the following for class:

• Students must be 10 years of age
• Students must have PADI Open Water or equivalent rating
• PADI student folder on file
• Diversions' Student Agreement on file
• All knowledge reviews completed
