PADI Search and Recovery

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost “treasure”? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Small, large or just awkward, there is a way to bring them up.

Classroom

During the classroom portion of this course students will learn various techniques and procedures unique to search and recovery diving, including:

• Search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems
• How to locate large and small objects using search patterns
• How to use a lift bag and other recovery methods
• Limited visibility search techniques

Open Water Dives

In the open water portion of this class students will apply what they have learned in the classroom. Students will complete three open water dives.

Course Options

This course is typically offered on weekends.

Prerequisites and Requirements

Students must have the following for class:

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent rating
• PADI student folder on file
• Diversions' Student Agreement on file
• All knowledge reviews completed
